Our Team Takes on The Wild Atlantic Way with Original Irish Hotels

Starting on Monday, 30th September 2024, team members from Original Irish Hotels, along with guests and local suppliers, will begin an 8-day charity cycle. The challenge starts at Casey’s of Baltimore in Cork and finishes on Monday, 7th October at Arnold’s in Dunfanaghy, Donegal. The cyclists will cover more than 800km. This event celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the Wild Atlantic Way and aims to raise €50,000 for the Irish Cancer Society. The funds will support cancer research and patient care.

A Scenic Journey Along the Wild Atlantic Way

During the 800km relay cycle, participants will travel along the scenic and rugged Wild Atlantic Way. Over the 8 days, cyclists will cover around 100km per day, stopping at 24 hotels. These include Randles Hotel in KillarneyParknasilla Resort and Spa in SneemFitzgerald Woodlands House Hotel in AdareLough Inagh Lodge in Connemara, and Mill Park Hotel in Donegal. A mix of hotel ownersstaffguestssuppliers, and local heroes will join the ride. Both experienced and leisure cyclists will take part. Every donation will go directly to the Irish Cancer Society, making this event a valuable contribution to local communities.

Spinathon at Woodlands Leisure Club

To complement the charity cycle, the Woodlands Leisure Club will host a spinathon during the event. Leisure club members are invited to join by riding the spin bike. The goal is to reach a total of 800km, matching the distance of the Wild Atlantic Way cycle challenge. Members can ride as long as they want, and together we will reach the target. This is a fun way to get involved, stay fit, and support the Irish Cancer Society. Both cyclists on the road and members in the gym will contribute to the same great cause.
