Not only will you find the freshest organic produce within the hotel grounds, but you will also find lots to tantalise the taste buds right across the region. From Michelin starred restaurants to rustic local bistros, artisan producers to the home of Irish Coffee, Adare and its surrounds has much to offer. Irish Coffee has to be the world’s most famous drink. It was invented by Chef Joe Sheridan at Foynes Airport on a winter evening in 1934. It is celebrated at the nearby Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum which offers masterclasses in the art of making the perfect Irish Coffee and hosts an annual Irish Coffee Festival.
Why not graze your way through Limerick city by visiting the Limerick Milk Market or take a unique walking tour which explores the city’s food heritage? Starting in the heart of the Georgian Quarter it travels through time to the food influences and tastes of today. Food historians will also love the medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle comprising a four course meal served in the Great Hall, accompanied by music, song and dance from the world-famous Bunratty Castle Singers. There is also a host of artisan smokehouses, chocolate makers, distilleries, bakers and farmers markets waiting to be discovered.
